Solutions of alkali metals in liquid ammonia are well-established to contain solvated electrons that govern their unique physical and chemical properties.
Papers [4] and [5] directly discuss dissolving Group 1 metals (such as lithium and potassium) in liquid ammonia, confirming the presence of solvated electrons in these solutions. No retrieved papers refute this foundational chemical principle.
