The Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620.

the verdict
CONTESTED PARTIAL
Recorded sources
8 sources for · 2 against

Counts group repeated records of the same source within each side. They do not measure evidence strength or source independence.

Is it true that the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620?

Partly. Several sources repeat the traditional claim that the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620, but these are captions, blurbs and textbook commonplaces rather than documentation. A reference article on Plymouth Rock notes the landing-place claim was first made in 1741, and a history account describes the December 1620 landing at Plymouth Harbor without mentioning the Rock.
