Is it true that birds sing in harmonic scales with pitch relationships similar to human music?

Partly. One study reports that great tit song intervals approximate small-integer harmonic frequency ratios, and two papers report shared melodic-shape features between human and avian song. However, a 2025 review argues tonal and metrical music perception appears uniquely human, so the evidence only partially addresses whether birds sing in harmonic scales like human music.
