Is it true that taking aspirin lowers blood pressure within hours?
Partly. One small 1989 study found intravenous aspirin lowered arterial blood pressure within 30 minutes in six patients with renovascular hypertension, while a 2026 pilot study found low-dose bedtime aspirin did not lower blood pressure over two weeks, and a 1986 review states aspirin has not been implicated in attenuating blood pressure control. The evidence covers only narrow patient groups and does not settle whether aspirin generally lowers blood pressure within hours.
