Is it true that Julius Caesar was born by caesarean section?

No. Multiple reference and peer-reviewed sources state that Julius Caesar was not born by caesarean section, chiefly because his mother Aurelia survived his birth by decades; one historical article notes the tradition traces to a first-century misinterpretation of Pliny.
