Is it true that hydrogen peroxide and baking soda react chemically when mixed together?

Unclear. Several dental studies combine hydrogen peroxide with baking soda in formulations and treat the mixture as chemically active, but none directly states that the two react chemically when simply mixed together. The evidence only partially supports the claim in a narrow dental context.
