Is it true that acetaminophen (paracetamol) relieves menstrual cramps in women who take it?
Unclear. A small 4-month trial of 90 women found acetaminophen reduced cramp pain more than placebo, and a reference article says simple analgesics such as acetaminophen may reduce short-term dysmenorrhea pain. A real-world study of a hyoscine-plus-paracetamol combination also reported reduced menstrual pain, but it did not isolate paracetamol's effect.
