The turbopump arrangement was as follows: the LOX pump at the top the fuel pump in the middle the turbine at the bottom The fuel was fed from two sides of the pump, and there were also two outlets. In this way, any fluctuation in input or output pressure was balanced, avoiding sideways forces acting on the pump shaft.
