Water connectors such as this were attached to the Apollo spacesuit on the front upper torso. They were attached through all layers of the suit, and connected to the portable life support system through a hose.
An interior valve was connected to the liquid cooling garment which was worn by the astronaut underneath the spacesuit. This cooling garment helped the astronaut maintain body temperature by enabling cool water to be circulated through the tubes which in turn was cooled or heated to the appropriate body temperature in the portable life support system.

When setting up the suits in preparation for the extravehicular walk
on the lunar surface, the astronauts attached oxygen hoses from the
Lunar Module (both inlet and outlet) while at the same time attaching
to the inlet and outlet hoses of the portable backpack. Once the
